Skin Care: 10 Tips
#1. Men who shave should soften the beard thoroughly
with soapy water before applying shaving cream and then use a sharp
blade and shave lightly to avoid nicking spots and blemishes.
#2. If the
acne is associated with wearing a headband or other item of clothing
which tightly fits over the skin, they should be discontinued.
#3. Keep the
areas affected by acne clean by washing twice a day with a perfume
free cleanser, morning and evening.
#4. Avoid scrubbing
the skin & pat the skin dry, do not rub vigorously.
#5. Avoid
finger contact with the affected areas and if possible, avoid
picking or popping the pimples.
#6. Females should use only oil-free cosmetics.
#7. Adult acne also responds to topical antibiotics
such as preparations containing Benzoyl Peroxide.
#8. If you obtain your acne medication without a
prescription, be sure to follow the instructions on the label implicitly.
Ignoring the instructions could result in acute skin irritation
if the product is used with certain soap or cosmetic preparations.
#9. Acne skin care treatment with Benzoyl Peroxide
helps the surface layer of dead skin shed more easily by causing
it to dry out.
#10. Natural sunlight can be used be used as an
effective therapy although there are still good results with artificial
sunlight. Caution is necessary however as some acne medications
may cause the user to be more susceptible to sunburn.
