Adult Acne:
Three Resources

Adult acne can be caused by stress and/or hormonal changes in the body.

Stress in the body causes certain hormones to increase which in turn increase oil production in the skin.

This increased oil production combined with dead skin cells and bacteria can then cause pimples and blackheads on the skin.

Adult acne often affects people in their 20's and 30's.

Treatments available include topical creams such as Retin A which dry up the excess oil on the skin and help remove the blackheads.

Adult acne also responds to topical antibiotics such as preparations containing Benzoyl Peroxide.

Benzoyl Peroxide kills bacteria which cause acne although it needs to be used consistently for up to three weeks before improvement may be seen.

However, many find Benzoyl Peroxide to be quite effective in controlling mild cases of adult acne.

Acne RX
By James. E. Fulton, Jr.

The author says: "Writing this book has brought me a peculiar mixture of both anguish and joy. The message is basic. While acne is a complicated, mysterious and devious disease, the treatment is remarkably simple and control is finally possible. That is the joy.

"The anguish lies in the personal memories I dislodged as I wrote. I traveled long journeys to come to the end of my acne. The medical establishment miserably failed me in my search for a treatment that would work. It is out of those failures that this book rises."
